Type a clinical question. Get a structured answer with citations you can click.

About

ProofMD is a web app that answers clinical questions with evidence. A physician types a question — how two anticoagulant classes compare in patients with kidney disease, what the trial record says about a therapy in a specific population — and gets back a structured answer whose inline citations link to articles in high-impact peer-reviewed medical journals. Each response closes with its source list, and any answer can be exported as a PDF research report.

It is built for licensed physicians and medical researchers, and it writes only for that audience. Answers quantify: hazard ratios, effect sizes, confidence intervals, drug interactions, contraindications, dosing, levels of evidence — and they separate settled guideline positions from newer findings. Nothing is simplified for a lay reader, because the lay reader is not the customer.

Questions can carry context. Attach clinical files — patient notes, labs, imaging, an ECG, a pathology report, even clinical video, each file up to 7.5MB — and ProofMD reads them alongside the question, then pulls research that bears on them. Under the hood, each question and its files pass through a serverless edge function to a large language model that works under a locked system prompt: the inline citations, the fixed answer structure, the physician-level register, and the requirement to explain mechanism are enforced there, not improvised. Answers stream back live. A Research More button pushes further into the same question, and every conversation lands in a private chat history with full-text search, isolated per physician at the database row level.

The category boundaries are deliberate. ProofMD is not a scribe: it never records or transcribes a patient conversation. It writes no encounter notes, produces no billing codes, and connects to no hospital record system — no audio, no documentation, no scheduling. What remains is a knowledge tool: the working model is handing a question to a well-read colleague and getting the citations back, not adding another piece of workflow software. It is currently free for signed-in physicians.

Highlights

  • Inline citations on every answer, linking out to articles in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, and a source list at the end
  • Reads clinical files in context — notes, labs, imaging, ECGs, pathology reports, video — each capped at 7.5MB
  • Physician-level output: hazard ratios, confidence intervals, dosing, contraindications, levels of evidence
  • Streams answers live, exports them as PDF reports, and keeps a per-physician private history with full-text search
  • Not a scribe, not a biller, not a records integration — a research tool on purpose, currently free for signed-in physicians

Who it’s for

Licensed physicians, medical researchers, and clinicians who need to check the evidence at the pace of practice. ProofMD assumes working fluency in pharmacology, trial design, pathophysiology, and biostatistics. It is deliberately not patient-facing, and it does not translate itself for a general audience.
